topic Changing LAN Instance Numbers in Operating System - HP-UX

Hello,

Hopefully a not too difficult one. I have two systems that I want to bring into line with each other (as they are clustered) in terms of device files.

Disks are OK, but one of the system had LAN caards added in a different order, and the LAN instance numbers are different.

Can I fix this using the ioinit method that is recommended for disks? Or is there a simpler way? Or is it a rebuild(?).

Cheers,

Tony

SEP,

Perfect, that's exactly what I needed. For some reason none of my searches brought up that document, and everything else I had read only specified disk devices. Whilst I could think of no reason why it would not apply to all devices, I wanted some confirmation before I started rebooting!

Cheers and Thank You,

Tony.
