I just inherited a hp-ux lli machine, I have mirrors established for all of vg00, and noticed I had a stale mirror on lvol3. When I try to lvsync it, I get ...

lvsync: Error, "lvsync" is not a valid LVM command.

The same response is given with vgsync.

I suspect mirroring is not patched onto my system, but the real question is... how is it that all the rest of vg00 is mirrored and current? Second question, is when swlist ing, what patch am I looking for?

Yes, Mirroring is not installed on my system, however, 7 other volumes on this same machine have mirroring, only one is stale. Is it possible someone upgraded the machine and forgot to install the patch for mirroring and that meanwhile, the mirrors established under the previous OS remained?

I would have expected that without the mirror patch, nothing would be mirrored and that mirrors established prior to the upgrade would have failed on the first boot.

If you have a license for MirrorDisk U/X - then I would re-install it from your cd's.

Rgds...Geoff
