Online JFS problems

Hi, i installed online jfs on my 2 hp servers (hp 11.11), i had to reboot the machine. Also i have verified that it is installed :

Base-VXVM B.03.50.5 Base VERITAS Volume Manager Bundle 3.5 for HP-UX
BaseVxFS B.03.50.0 VERITAS File System Bundle for HP-UX

The problem is that when i try to enlarge any FS using the fsadm command i get the error :
fsadm -b 800m /tmp
fsadm: /etc/default/fs is used for determining the file system type
fsadm: You don't have a license to run this program

Please advice how i can use it?

Assuming you have the real OnlineJFS, do this to activate your licence:
/sbin/fs/vxfs/vxenablef -a

Then if it works, add this to the inittab to prevent from having to run the command each time at bootup:
vxen::bootwait:/sbin/fs/vxfs/vxenablef -a

kmsystem | grep vxadv

Is vxadv driver present in the kernel and configured??

vxenablef -a
vxlicense -p
swverify -v "OnlineJFS_product_name"

Are all above OK??

You need a valid license to make HP OnlineJFS to run.

Hi,

Pls do a "swlist -l product|grep Online". You should be able to see OnlineJFS if you have installed it. What you've referred to in your post is a diff product.

You don't seem to have it installed.....

swlist -l product |grep -i online

Should reveal:

OnlineJFS B.11.11 Online features of the VxFS File System
