User unknown": Bad file number&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;this message in the syslog&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;what's the problem..and what shall i do ??&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>I beleive the problem is related to the OSSPI mail queue monitor osspi_mailq.sh script&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;you could either : &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Restrict the security of some directories, so that sendmail doesn't give the warnings anymore: &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# chmod go-w / /etc /etc/mail /var /var/spool /var/spool/mqueue &lt;BR /&gt;# chown root / /etc /etc/mail &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;or&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vi /etc/mail/sendmail.cf &lt;BR /&gt;(and add right after the line #O DontBlameSendmail=safe) &lt;BR /&gt;O DontBlameSendmail=GroupWritableDirPathSafe &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Or if one doesn't care about sendmail checking any security setting add &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;O DontBlameSendmail=safe &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then stop/start sendmail. &lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>thank you for your help Alex!!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;one more question&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;i already changed name nsswitch.conf -&amp;gt; nsswitch.conf.old like this&lt;BR /&gt;because this system didn't use dns, nis...etc&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;but still this message in the syslog&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Apr  1 16:39:18 khan2 sendmail[7564]: NOQUEUE: SYSERR(root): NIS map mail.aliases specified, but NIS not running&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;help me!!</description>
