      <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can use the -r option but that will not append the tape&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check the man pages&lt;BR /&gt; r    Add the named file to the end of the archive.  The same blocking factor used to create the archive must be used to append to it. This option cannot be used if the archive is a tape.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Rgds&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HGN</description>

      <description>Yogi,&lt;BR /&gt;move the tape past the end of the pevious backup&lt;BR /&gt;mt -f fsf&lt;BR /&gt;then use your normal tar command to create the second backup file.&lt;BR /&gt;Regards</description>
