boot question

Hello Gurus,

Can someone ansser these?

1) Can I have two core operating systems on the ignite and choose one using bootsys? .....

2) How long would bootsys (installing new) take ..

3) Let's say I use bootsys to install o/s A into a client ... I discover something went wrong .. Can I use bootsys immediately and install o/s B?

1) On an Ignite server you can set up two core os archives or more and choose which one to boot off. These choices are set up in the configuration files.

2) Depends on a lot of factors, including speed of the built in NIC. Can't boot ignite off an add in NIC

3) Yes, you should be able to halt the install and start a new one. Depending on how far into the install you are, you may need to direct the second install from the client.

Can I store the core os on cd, have a different client booted from cd instead of ignite?

What I mean in above question is .. if client c has os 1, can I boot it from cd so it will coldinstall os 2?
