      <description>There are many ways to do this but the preferred method is to make a "NOLOGIN=1" entry in /etc/default/security. If the file /etc/nologin exists, non-root users are not allowed to login.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If you are somehow locked out of the system as root, you will probably have to bring the system up in single-user mode. You will then be logged in as root on the console. You can reset root's passwd.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
