    <description>I am getting conflicting info on ftp - do newer versions of this tool still send the id/password in cleartext? I assume that the alternatives are sftp and scp?</description>

      <description>Yes scp, ssh and sftp are the things you needed..all r commands (rlogin, remsh etc) telnet, ftp do send every information in clear text format..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-USa..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
