      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Why would you want to kill a process in sleeping state?&lt;BR /&gt;At a given time only a very few processes are "running", all the rest are "sleeping"...&lt;BR /&gt;More precisely what are you trying to achieve? because killing processes can lead to serious issues if you dont know what you are doing...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;All the best&lt;BR /&gt;Victor</description>

      <description>If you are sure&lt;BR /&gt;Check the PPID and look with ps -ef|grep &lt;PPID&gt; what the PPID does (other processes attached?..) if safe try to kill -9 both PID and PPID&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If that doesnt work there is not much hope (real zombie...)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;All the best&lt;BR /&gt;Victor&lt;/PPID&gt;</description>
