Cannot Install HPUX 11.11

Hi all,
My problem is when I attempt to boot off the core OS install media, it can read from DVD but it will stop at:
Memory Information:
physical page size = 4096 bytes, logical page size = 4096 bytes
Physical: 6289408 Kbytes, lockable: 4777860 Kbytes, available: 5506384 Kbytes
It just stalls there and does nothing.
What could the problem?
My server is rp4440, the media kit is hp-ux11i December 2004.

hi,

it does not look like u have booted from the DVD.

have u stop the autoboot, i.e. 10 seconds before continuing ...? Once, at the boot console menu, do a "sea" to search for path of the DVD and boot up, BOOT P<# of the path>.

u will then be requested to "Interact with IPL?", choose n.

Hi Bui Xuan,

Your not booting from the CDROM drive.
When you boot get to the PDC prompt.
see this document.
http://www.porterdavis.org/computing/hp_boot/
then deo u search for your DVD drve and boot from it.

But it is the firt thing I do. I was booting from DVD, I can see the led's DVD. My server is new one.

If you are booting from the DVD it looks like a hardware isuee.
I remember i had something like this a long time ago with a L3000 i don't now what it was. disk cpu or memory.

I can install this server by the hp-ux11i v1 June 2004 media kit. But I have to Install by it's media kit (december 2004 media kit).

But i don't think this gives a answer.
Do you have another DVD of december 2004.
I think maybe the DVD is corrupt.

Or as the manual says it takes a time to check the memory maybe thats the problem you are to fast?

Yes, I have 6 media kit. I was try it with 3 servers, but have the same problem.

Do you have an older media install set ?

Try to boot from the older version, just to exclude bad media.

The media P/N is : B3920-14091 (december 2004)
I can boot from DVD with June 2004 media kit.

Order replacement media and try again.

May be a bad DVD drive or DVD.

Try mounting the dvd and reading it in another server.

Hi,Huong

I strongly agree with Steven's opinion.

One day, I remember that a senior engineer of my department has met the same problem without no errors on rp4440.
After some checked for all h/w ,he has made a decision to change the DVD to lower version(Sep. 2004) for cold installtion,it was a work history of him for us.

It might be a problem of bad DVD I guess.
