    <description>&lt;BR /&gt;For this same itanium box??&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You should open a new thread!&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Anyways, date will not got to 2038:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;                   The numeric argument is interpreted left to right in&lt;BR /&gt;                   two-digit pairs as follows:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;                        mm   Month number [01-12].&lt;BR /&gt;                        dd   Day number in the month [01-31].&lt;BR /&gt;                        hh   Hour number (24-hour system) [00-23].&lt;BR /&gt;                        mm   Minute number [00-59].&lt;BR /&gt;                        cc   Century minus one [19-20].&lt;BR /&gt;                        yy   Last two digits of the year number [70-99, 00-&lt;BR /&gt;                             37 (1970-1999, 2000-2037)].       <description>Go to the patch database pages on the ITRC&lt;BR /&gt;selct your OS and version, use keyword libc and see what it lists&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I suspect you are after PHCO_31700 or something like that</description>

      <description>JPE,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I agree that it's lame.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It appears that date is still a 32 bit app. Using "date" versus getdate (in 64bit mode can result in correct usage). In the banking world in the 1980's we had the same issues with loans that extended past 2000, thus we had most Y2K issues resolved back then.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;see man getdate&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;           8  invalid input specification.  For example, February 31; or the&lt;BR /&gt;              time specified cannot be represented in the time_t data type&lt;BR /&gt;              in 32-bit HP-UX (which represents Tuesday January 19 03:14:07&lt;BR /&gt;              UTC, 2038) or exceeds the maximum date supported in 64-bit&lt;BR /&gt;              HP-UX (which is Friday December 31 23:59:59 UTC, 9999).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;live free or die&lt;BR /&gt;harry d brown jr</description>
