Hi,

Are you sure your tape drive is in good condition? Though you have changed the drive/media ... verify the drive by taking backup of a large file using tar.

If you can provide us the make_recovery log, will help to assist you further.

/var/opt/ignite/recovery/<DATETIME>/recovery.log

Sudeesh</DATETIME>

Hi Ali,

make_tape_recovery by default uses../dev/rmt/0m , if this device is not available in system, then it might fail..probably your tape drive is recognised as some other device file ex: /dev/rmt/1m or something else..

If a tape drive other than the default (/dev/rmt/0m) is used, modify the command to point to the device you want to use. For example, if a tape drive is at /dev/rmt/3m, enter:

/opt/ignite/bin/make_tape_recovery -Av -a/dev/rmt/3m
