Hi folks,
I am facing a tipical problem in configuring APA. In manual mode it is working fine but when I am configuring for FEC_AUTO or LACP_AUTO it is not working. I am able to configure it from host side all the parameters are perfect. Is there any specific configuration to be done on the switch side. We are using Cisco 6509 layer 3 switches.

Rds
Ramkumar
Hi Ramkumar

Check this out first to see if there are any compatibility issues with your Cisco switches

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=J4240AA

APA and Cisco are a little bit tetchy at the best of times... you need to make sure your switch supports FEC_AUTO & LACP_AUTO

Neil.
Hi Ramkumar,

APA is very well supported ON CISCO 6509 switch. We have two 6509 switches & around 60 of its ports are working under APA from aound 15 different hosts.

You need to define ether channel for APA to work on this.

HTH,
Devender

set your switches' trunking mode (AUTO or MANUAL) to match the mode used on the host to either Cisco's Fast EtherChannel (FEC), or IEEE 802.2ad Link Aggreation Control Protocl (LACP), or MANUAL mode.

see HP's doc: J4240-90027 in http://docs.hpt.com or

http://docs.hp.com/en/J4240-90027/index.html
