Obviously, there is no simple answer to this
and it depends on what is running on the
HP-UX box and what is it intended to be used
for. If you are running a http server, then
obviously you can't block port 80, but if
it's a desktop that does not run a http
server, you should probably block port 80.

IMO, the best solution to your problem is to
run HP-UX IPFilter system firewall on this
machine. Block all the ports/services and
selectively open those that the machine will
use. HP-UX IPFilter is very simple and easy
to use and can be configured to do the above
job within minutes.

Hi Pedro

It very much depends on what services /applications you are running. The general rule is to disable all ports that are not being used.

Have a look at the attached guide for securing your system.
