I'm having trouble booting a box on which I recently replaced a disk. It's coming up and panicking shortly after activating the volume groups, and reports "stale extent array overflow" as the reason for the panic. It then reboots.

The disk I replaced was only used in one logical volume, and it was striped, not mirrored. I thought I had removed any stale extent issue by completely newfs-ing the volume, but I suspect the problem could be there.

Any ideas? I'm in a bit of a time crunch, so I may have it working by the time anyone responds, but I found it hard to believe that no one in the forums had ever posted a question with the above error and I thought I might as well document it.

I was able to boot into LVM mode before replacing the disk, but no further without hanging the system; having fixed the disk issue, now I'm running into this panic.

Thanks!

Since the one LV was striped, you will need to recreate that LV and restore from backup. The disk you removed had roughly half of the information for the logical volume on it, and since it isn't mirrored, you must restore from backup.
