Hi, all....

I recently installed a new patch set on my servers (RP-8400s and RP7410s). And after doing so, I have started seeing the creation of /tmp files:

-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Sep 2 17:28 fruid.15662
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 15 17:36 fruid.17407
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 23 17:26 fruid.17980
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Sep 6 17:28 fruid.18750
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Sep 1 17:26 fruid.20386
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 10 17:26 fruid.22063
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 2 17:37 fruid.25890
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Sep 8 17:28 fruid.26173
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Sep 7 17:27 fruid.26307
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 11 17:27 fruid.26918
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 14 17:28 fruid.28003
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 12 17:28 fruid.29820
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 7 17:28 fruid.5126
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 29 17:27 fruid.528
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Jul 21 17:38 fruid.5400
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 22 17:26 fruid.6087
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Jul 30 17:28 fruid.610
-rw-r--r-- 1 root bin 114979 Aug 13 17:29 fruid.7209

Does any know of a bug that would cause STM/CSTM to start creating these files? Is there a fix?

Dwyane

Only a question...
but the presence of that files can be a signal of a unit failed, so STM logs the Field Replaceable Unit of that unit?

Regards,
Alex

Alex...

I have reviewed the files, as they are only text; and I didn't see any failures. They appear to be nothing more that inventory checks on the system. Not to mention, they are appearing on all the servers that have this patch set level.

Pete...

I have downloaded the patch you suggested, I don't have it installed. I will give it a try.

Dwyane

Yeah - 11.11 was what I searched on. How about updating OnlineDiag? Latest is available here:

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B6191AAE

Pete
