      <title>HP Apache error on HPUX</title>

      <description>Dear Sirs;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;We are seeing following error in the error log of HP Apache on HPUX 11.00:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;[notice] child pid 1161 exit signal&lt;BR /&gt; Abort( 6 ) &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Can someone suggest what could be the root cause ?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks,&lt;BR /&gt;Shiv</description>

      <description>Hi Shiv,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;sigabort is called by the process itself.&lt;BR /&gt;You can say it's an "emergency exit".&lt;BR /&gt;Normally it's used, if the programmer don't know how to handle a special condition.&lt;BR /&gt;You have to look for other errors (syslog) or any other apachelogs, that can explain what has happened before the child exits.&lt;BR /&gt;Maybe the cause is that the child couldn't allocate memory or fork or ....&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Micky</description>
