normally this should be set at BCH at factory.

See if at the BCH (or GSP?) if there is an ID command that sets/ shows it.

use getconf MACHINE_SERIAL
from the OS to see if that reports anything.

Could be an STM bug?
Using STM try to Remap the System....

Later,
Bill

Hi
Found that in the service menu of the PDC when trying to display product number, I got the processor product number and then an error:'trying to retrieve product number'

Asked a HP tech about this and he stated that this has to be corrected with a special tool.

So I'll wait for the next tech visit as this problem isn't causing any trouble.

Thanks anyway!

Andreas

Also ask him for the latest firmware aswell because you can do OLAR on Ns and Ls now.
(with 11i)

CE needs to set this via a tool called sskey,
the id is important for software licencing.
It makes your system unique in the world!

Later,
Bill

> do you have a link to downlowd SSKEY tool please ?

I don't. My quick Web search found this:

      https://community.hpe.com/hpeb/attachments/hpeb/hpsc-143/2153/1/

which begins with:

Entering EFI "MFG" mode and modifying SYSSET parameters to
resolve field/customer issues on rx1600 and rx4640* systems:

Note: This document and the procedures within are to be considered
"HP Company Confidential" and should not be distributed to any
person or entity outside of Hewlett Packard Company. Accidental or
purposeful distribution to a customer or OEM/Distributor could
compromise HP's licensing and system configuration controls and
could result in significant revenue loss.

Apparently, it was not widely distributed. Intentionally.
