If an NFS-mounted directory is unexported by exportfs, any access by the client to the directory causes an NFS stale file handle error.

Unexport all exported files and directories:
exportfs -a

Export entries in /etc/exports:
exportfs
Dear all,

we have the following configuration:

2 nodes into a SG (A.11.16.00) environment.
This nodes has a SAP R/3 integration. The packege that switch within the cluster is composted by a VG/FS component (on shared disks) plus an NFS export component.
The NFS FS are exported to another two hosts.
Our problem is the following:

When the package switch happens the NFS exported FS become in STALE HANDLE and no access is possible. Otherwise if we halt the package and transfer it on the source node (the first one) the NFS FS works well.

Any idea?

PS. maybe we have to use a product such as ServiceGuard NFS Toolkit??
Hi Afflin ,

for NFS STALE HANDLE you need to unexport and reexport it again , from the NFS server.

Cheers,
Raj.

Thanks to all.
At the moment we proceeded to order the add-on NFS Toolkit.
Since this will require at least two weeks and our situation is urgent we would know if there's the possibility to obtain a trial version (fully functional) of it..of course we will proceed to unlock it after got the codeword.

Thanks
Alessandro.
