Ramon,

Unfortunately, this type of hangups take place sometimes. D210 is a very old system and I think you can not get any support on it from HP.

if it happens again, instead of disconnecting it from power, connect a console to the serial port on the back and hit ctrl-B. You will see a

CM>

prompt. when you see this, type

RS

and hot return. This will have the same effect without powering down the server hard way. If you power down the system too many times, some of your disks may die due to electric shock.

Right now, nobody can tell you what happened as you reboot the system.
Hi,

Are you be able to goto BCH (Boot Console Handler) mode ?

BCH mode is the mode when the system asking you to interupt the system within 10 seconds when the system startup.

If be able, check the system info and check the PIM info. See help (HE) for the commands.

Check whether the timestamp on PIM info is updated or not. If yes, possible the hardware on your system have a problem.

Cheers,
AW
Ramon,

Logic of no response from server on the network can be due to many things. Unfortunately, what you told us so far does not have any specific information in it to tell you what the cause is.

What is the last change you did to this system and when ?

You said in year 2000, you added a disk. Did you change anything after that ? Software or hardware ? Install new applications ? Add new users ? Create new printers ?

When you need to ask more questions, REPLY to this instead of creating new topics. It is easier.

Also, HP-UX version 10.10 is way long out of support by HP and you will not be able to get detailed help about it. Consider upgrade.
