topic mt offl error in Operating System - HP-UX

Running HP-UX 11.0 on L2000 server. When I issue the 'mt offl' command to rewind and eject the DAT tape, I get the message "offline 1 failed: I/O error". The tape ejects - which is what I want, but I've never had this message from other servers. What is causing it?

Hi

You could test this media on another server and it it works try a new media on the drive which gives an error if it still gives error you need to get the drive replaced I think.

Rgds

HGN
