      <description>What you really need, is the book "The AWK Programming Language" by Aho, Kernighan and Weinberger - the authors of AWK.  This book is the AWK bible and has been my only reference for years.  It's a small, thin book at 200 pages.  Published by Addison-Wesley.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
