using products such as securepath, load balancing and utilization can be achieved. However I don't believe utilizing LVM that this can be done, thus the concept of primary and alternate path. What exactly are you trying to accomplish? Having access stay on the primary, or access via both paths at the same time?

Good afternoon all, my OS is 11.23 volume will not stay on the prefered path, what I am trying to do is send data to a single lun thru both A and B controllers of a Storagetek D280 at the same time. I have created a single zone with 1 hba and both controllers in the same zone.

No, secure path.<BR />I am using pvlinks I/O will stay on prefered path for about 30 sec, then go to alternate path and stay there. I have ensured the pathing is correct for prefered and alt

Any error messages in syslog? I'm thinking that your path may have an issue.

You also need to check out the autoswitch option with lvdisplay and then maybe switch it back via pvchange -s.

no reported errors in syslog, just failed to alt path, also no errors in STK major event log. storage manager shows volumes not on prefered path. Is it legal to send data to a single lun thru both controllers at the same time?
