Hi,

I had such a problem more than one time . One of the solution was to upgrade GSP firmware (yes!!!). The second solution was to replace the disk.
Talk to your HP support re both options.

HTH

Hai,

I have a problem with one of my HP-UX servers. One week back my server hanged and when I rebooted the machine it gave me an error saying Alert Level 15: Fatal Hardware problem in GSP. It said the source was the disk. I then just removed all the internal disks and then placed it back and rebooted the server. It came up fine without any problems or errors. I checked all the syslogs, rc.log, shutdownlog etc, but could not find any errors.

Then the machine was working fine for one week. Now after one week it again hanged and when I rebooted it came up fine without any errors. I am not understanding what could be the problem. The logs doesn't show any error.

Did anyone ever come accross such problem. If so, kindly let me know, and any suggestions or solutions regarding this will be highly appreciated.

Thanks & Regards
Rajesh

Hi,

After startup, run :
diskinfo /dev/rdsk/XXXX
and
dd if=/dev/rdsk/XXXX of=/dev/null bs=32768k
for each disk and take a look on
dmesg -
each 5 minutes.
I'm afraid, one of the computer's disks will crash in a nearest time. Back up your computer ASAP.

HTH
