      <description>You didnt mention what rev of gzip you are using. older revs would limit you to 2GB... You should probably look at getting a newer rev of gzip.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;-denver</description>

      <description>I installed 1.3.5 version.But the system recognize as 1.2.4 version.&lt;BR /&gt;So, I edited files.&lt;BR /&gt;PATH=/usr/local/bin:/opt/xppa:$PATH -&amp;gt;.profile&lt;BR /&gt;/usr/bin:/usr/local/bin: -&amp;gt; /etc/PATH&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;and, what is opt/xppa in profile?</description>

      <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can try first to run the gzip with full path (just to make sure that you using gzip v.1.3.5).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Use 'whereis' command to get the gzip v.1.3.5 :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# whereis gzip&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And run gzip with full path &amp;amp; option '-V' to get the correct one (if you have more than 1 gzip in your system) :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# full_path_gzip -V&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;After that extract test_tar.tar file with gzip v.1.3.5 :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# full_path_gzip_v.1.3.5 test_tar.tar&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;FYI, xppa is a part of performance advisor (OpenView's product).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this information can help.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cheers,&lt;BR /&gt;AW</description>

      <description>Recently i also got stuck with the above problem:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Use the following:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;dd if=input_filename bs=1024k | gzip - | dd of=output_filename bs=1024k&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;And just the opp. to decompress.&lt;BR /&gt;Now no matter waht's the size, let it be 100GB, this will work.</description>

      <description>Your file system is largefiles. ok. what is space existing on that specific file system?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# bdf&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;It may be the problem to get that ERROR.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;To found whereis gzip available then,&lt;BR /&gt;which gzip &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if not found then, find / -name "gzip"&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;post what is the version you are using there.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;what &lt;FULL path="" of="" gzip=""&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hth.&lt;/FULL&gt;</description>
