      <description>Hi All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;/usr is 94% and just wanted to know , can it be done online.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# bdf | grep usr&lt;BR /&gt;Filesystem          kbytes    used   avail %used Mounted on&lt;BR /&gt;/dev/vg00/lvol8    1146880 1079056   67344   94% /usr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;"Online features of the VxFS File System" has installed. &amp;amp; SAP is running on the system.&lt;BR /&gt;OS= hp-ux 11.11 , N4000-55.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Thanks.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>Hello&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Yes Geoff is right that if you have online JFS installed and of course providing there is sufficient space in VG00 there is nothing to stop you increasing this via SAM or the lvextend command.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope this helps&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mark</description>

      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;you can check this:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# vgdisplay -v /dev/vg00 | egrep '(PV Name | Free)'&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Then use lvextend and fsadm to increase space.&lt;BR /&gt;# lvextend -L Total_sizeinMB /dev/vg00/lvol8&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Use fsadm to extend the filesytem &lt;BR /&gt;# fsadm -F vxfs -b 1024*sizeinMB /usr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;hth,&lt;BR /&gt;Raj.</description>

      <description>Hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;You can very well extend it online, provided that you have sufficient free PEs avaiable in vg00. You may have check , why  the filesystem has become 94%. What is the growth rate of the fileystem, is it normal or an abnormal one. Just analyse the history before you decide to simply increase the fs size.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Regards,&lt;BR /&gt;Sunil</description>

      <description>Hi, &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Do the following steps..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#vgdisplay -v vg00&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;u can see the free space available in vg00. if it is showing PE 481, it means 481x4=1924 MB free space available in ur vg00.&lt;BR /&gt;#lvextend -L 1924 /dev/vg00/lvol8&lt;BR /&gt;#fsadm -F vxfx -b 1924 /usr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#bdf |grep usr (see the current space available in /usr).&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;cheers.&lt;BR /&gt;indrajit</description>

      <description>hi,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;provided u have online JFS, this can be done.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# swlist -l product|grep OnlineJFS&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;if u confirm to have online JFS:&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# lvextend -l &lt;SIZE of="" new="" pe=""&gt; /dev/vg00/lvol8&lt;BR /&gt;# fsadm -F vxfs -b &lt;SIZE of="" new="" pe=""&gt; /usr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;e.g. taking that the current PE is 280 and u will be using 200 of existing 1051 PE (where size of each PE is 4MB) :&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;# lvextend -l 480 /dev/vg00/lvol8&lt;BR /&gt;# fsadm -F vxfs -b 1966080 /usr&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;regards.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;/SIZE&gt;&lt;/SIZE&gt;</description>
