    <description>Hello Yajuvendra,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;login to ur client machine try the following  commads..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#ypwhich&lt;BR /&gt;(it should u display ur nisdomain name)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;#ypcat -k passwd&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;see the output.. u should able to see the user name..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;try this and let me know...&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Hope u  have configured NIS server properly..&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;cheers&lt;BR /&gt;indrajit</description>

      <description>Dear All,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  I have created some 30 NIS users in HP-UX workstation, and I have nearly 20 clients connected to this workstation.  I mounted the users filesystem in my local client machine.  When I tried to login using the user id and password created in main HP-UX workstation it is getting failed.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;  Please help me to find out the way</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;Dear Yajuvendra,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;check the #domainname also, and chech wether ths NIS daemons and rpc services are running in the server (ypserv, etc ) and clients too.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;HtH,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Siva.</description>

      <description>1. Have you set clients to use nis server?? &lt;BR /&gt;check ypwhich. check if ypbind process is running or not.&lt;BR /&gt;check nsswitch.conf-does it allow for looks in nis??&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2. On clients, are nis daemons running??&lt;BR /&gt;/sbin/init.d/nis.client start&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>hi singh,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;1. check the ypbind and portmap service running&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;2. check the /etc/nssswitch.conf file&lt;BR /&gt;( example passwd:    nis   files )&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;3.check with password file which is refering to login ( u can use ypcat, or passwd -r nis )&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;4.kill the portmap and ypbind process. and restart the service&lt;BR /&gt;(/sbin/init.d/nis.server)&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>
