HI,
please find the errors below and comment.

vgextend /dev/vgp_van_d6 /dev/dsk/c16t7d7
vgextend: Physical Volume "/dev/dsk/c6t7d7" contains no LVM information
Verification of unique LVM disk id on each disk in the volume group
/dev/vgp_van_d6 failed.
root@vanity:>pvchange -s /dev/dsk/c6t7d7
Physical volume "/dev/dsk/c6t7d7" has been successfully changed.
vgcfgbackup: Unable to read the physical volume.: Invalid argument
vgcfgbackup: Invalid LVMREC on Physical Volume /dev/rdsk/c6t7d7

Hi Amit,

Did you do a pvcreate on the physical disk,

pvcreate /dev/rdsk/c16t7d7

Make sure you are able to see the disk in ioscan and can access it,

# diskinfo -v /dev/rdsk/c16t7d7
# dd if=/dev/rdsk/c16t7d7 of=/dev/null bs=1024k

You need to pvcreate the disk first.

If pvcreate /dev/rdsk/c16t7d7 errors, then use the -f option if you are sure the disk isn't used elsewhere...

Hey;

As mentioned, it's the pvcreate. I've been doing UNIX admin for 14 years and HP admin for 10; and I always forget that damned thing!

pvcreate ${raw_dev}
