Problem re-connecting Quantum DLT

I have reconnected a Quantum DLT drive to our A500 HP-UX 11i server.
It appeares fine at first but when I ry to backup it dissapears from the system:

It changes to NO_HW and goes offline.
All the lights are on on the DLT.

Hi,

Could you check the terminator in the DLT ?

Also you can check by changing the SCSI ID in the DLT drive and reconnect the drive & check ioscan.

Did your run an ioscan after reconnecting the DLT

ioscan -fnC tape
ioscan -funC tape

Alan,

if you _re_-connected it, this is most likely a bent-pin-issue. you should see SCSI errors in syslog and dmesg.

Disconnect again and check pins (and terminator).

The pins look fine, none are bent and I have run ioscan many times after reconnecting :)

The adapter on the DLT is FW Diff SCSI
and the terminator I am using is marked with: A1658-62024 Rev B
I'm not sure if this is the correct terminator, it may not be the original one used.

Are your SCSI patches updated?

Are there any SCSI lbolt errors onthe console/syslog?

Have you run c/stm?
