Inna,

I would suggest using Ignite to do your installs and then using swinstall to install patches and applications from depots created using swcopy.

Pete

I want to prepare separated
images:
1. Installation OS: 11.11, 11.22, 11.23
2. Gold Bundles and patches for every OS,
but keep its in different places, then
OS in order to replace it on every 6
months without changing base OS
installation.
3. Application software, keeped separated
from 1 and 2.
4.Customization.

Could you show me simply / like plan
"TO DO" /how to do this.

Regards,Inna

Hi Inna,

You can use IgniteUX to do the variuos installations from Ignite Server.

You can maintain a separate dirs for recent patches and install them to clients.

http://docs.hp.com/en/IUX/ for more information.

-Arun

Shalom Inna,

You need to create an Ignite server, with access to substantial disk space.

On this server, you can create golden installation images for your various hardware, which would let you roll out servers with patches already installed.

http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90941/ch05.html
http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90772/ch07s02.html

That is the only addition to your find checklist I would add.

Specific document recommendations:
http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90941/ch02s02.html

http://docs.hp.com/en/B2355-90941/ch02s03.html

Lan boot issues:
http://docs.hp.com/en/6839/LANBoot--bootpserversetup.html

I recommend keeping the server current with Ignite 6.x software and having an upgrade plan for the software that preserves your configuration files.

Ignite is an exception to other depot software. To properly upgrade, the previous version must be removed. If you do this prior to backup your your INDEX files and customization, you will have to do the server setup again.

SEP
