Make failure when installing QPK1100,r=B.11.00.64.4

I'm trying to apply Qualtiy Patch Bundle for March 2004 on HPUX 11.00 which is failing. I'm a novice and haven't a clue how to proceed. If I try to abort I receive a warning about the system may not boot! The directory structure quoted below does exist but is empty.Any help on how to proceed would be much appreciated.The error is :-

NOTE: Building a new kernel based on template file "/stand/system"
Make: Don't know how to make /usr/conf/km.d/krm/mod.o. Stop.
make failure.

Which version of ems is installed on your server?

# swlist -l product | grep -i ems
EMS-Config A.03.20 EMS Config
EMS-Core A.03.20 EMS Core Product
EMS-KRMonitor A.11.00.04 EMS Kernel Resource Monitor

most likely cause is the mod.o is 32 bit and O/S 64 .... could this be the case ?

file mod.o ?

I'd use a later QPK say September 2004

I can't find a file called mod.o but there is a directory called mod.d which contains a file called krm :-

iweb_root : file krm
krm: ELF-64 relocatable object file - PA-RISC 2.0 (LP64)

Hi Mark,

Download the latest HP-UX Quality Packs + the latest EMS (links are below)

swremove the ems version you have on your server, first install the qpack then ems.
