Shalom Shiv,

This should be preventable.

There is probably a conflcit between termcap, TERM type and stty settings.

Check stty -a

You should be able to prevent the locking.

SEP

Hi,

i am using xterm of reflection X software tool to connect hpux boxes. It seems there some key strokes which if typed unknowingly locks the terminal and no further character can be typed on the terminal. It locks the terminal. What are the key sequences be typed to unlock the terminal ?

Thanks,
Shiv

Hi Shiv,

By default in most terminal emulators, the keystrokes CTRL+S and CTRL+Q perform a flow control function equivalent to Xon and Xoff.

CTRL+S will perform Xoff and freeze your terminal. If you get into this situation, press CTRL+Q to perform Xon which will make the terminal start responding again.

Hope that helps - Lee
