how to install pkg file ?

I got a software named xxxx.pkg, and I want to install it, but seems there is no any command to finish this job, anyone can help me ?

What does it return? Unless you know what it is, you can't do anything. where did you get it?

It seemed to be solaris software..

HP-UX's software is XXXX.depot.

Check your file....

This is Legato networker installtion pkg,EMC engineer sent to me and let me install it.

Yep. Legato Networker product is having an extension with .pkg for hp-ux platform. I am working on it ;)

Simply as,

# cd /
# swlist -s

what are you getting. Are you getting informations then install it with swinstall utility.

Muthukumar, yes, we can install it using swinstall directly, thanks.

RAC, file xxx.pkg, the return info is : this is tar file.
