Hello Filo,

I hope you are getting this message from,
fcmsutil /dev/fdx get remote all.

I believe DSM is one fabric status in the fabric topology. DSM_READY means, the target is ready and device access is available.

If DSM_UNOPEND, I believe you can see the target and there is a fabric ID for your initiator but no devices available and you cannot access the devices from that target.

To get more details about open requests and logins use,

#fcmsutil /dev/fcd3 devstat 0xXXXXXX

Where XXXXXX is the Target N_Port_id, you get from "fcmsutil /dev/fdx get remote all".

Check your Zoning, Masking database in XP.

Regards
Sathish

Hi,
I have two rp8420 attach to xp12000 with 4 Fibre Channel, 2 are HP A9782-60002 and 2 are HP A9782-60001 for each system.
I try to execute command fcmsutil /dev/fdX on first host and I recived Target State = DSM_UNOPENED for all the fibre channel. On the other host I recived target state = DSM_READY.
On The first host, when I execute ioscan or xpinfo commands I'm waiting for much time.
What do means DSM_UNOPENED target state ?

Thanks for your helps

By

filo

Shalom filo,

Your SAN/array is not configured correctly. Make sure the World Wide Name ownership on the luns is correct for shared access.

SEP
