In addition to the docs.hp.com sam itself when in the restricted SAM builder has very good documentation in the help section of any screen. I found more detailed info that complemented the other documentation. I can't remember if there were other logs - I don't think so.

Peg

We are about to release SAM in restricted mode for use by our Help Desk in order for them to be able to Activate user ids that are locked. Looking at the SAM log, I was hoping that it would provide an audit trail of what user was in SAM and what actions were taken. The file /var/sam/log/samlog looks like it has the function that was executed and some sort of stamp starting with @.... Is this the only log available and if so is there any description what the @.... is actually representing. Also is anyone aware of any detailed information available on the WWW about SAM in restricted mode. We are supporting HP machines remotely without any documentation or support contracts.

TIA for any information in advance.

Tom Bebee
CSC - Carrier Corp.
