      <description>Our vendor finally came to the conclusion of INSF as well. They(we) had been building the kernel modifying the /stand/build/system file. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Apparently something different occurs when you use SAM to build the kernel file?</description>

      <description>Yes SAM also check if parms are outside supported limits.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;When new hardware is added to a server, ie fibrechannel device, an ioscan -f will detect the new hardware but not install any special files.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;to install special files:&lt;BR /&gt;insf -eCdisk&lt;BR /&gt;for all disk device files&lt;BR /&gt;insf -eCtape&lt;BR /&gt;for all elements in tape class&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;look at ioscan -fnk output for the class.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;insf -eH 8/12&lt;BR /&gt;for device files for everything on hardware path 8/12&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Later,&lt;BR /&gt;Bill</description>
