You can use a vnc software (e.g. realvnc) to connect to the x desktop or just run a x-server on your client to re-direct the x-output to. There are a lot of free x-servers for different OS. You can use Linux or "any" unix flavour by default or emulations for win, like cygwin (with x-server extension).

My favorite one is finding an old 750 Mhz to 1.5 Ghz box no one wants and load Linux on it.
Done. Great Xterm as well as really nice environment that runs great, etc.

Shalom Hunki

there is a product called cgywin

Here are some articles for you to evaluate along, with hopefully a link:

http://www.google.co.il/search?hl=en&hs=tfe&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&sa=X&oi=spell&resnum=0&ct=result&cd=1&q=cygwin+xterm&spell=1

google search terms:
cygwin xterm

Ignore the Hebrew. Google thinks its smarter than me. Also seems to think I'm literate in Hebrew 'cause I'm sitting in Jerusalem.

Wrong on both counts.

SEP

For what it's worth, I wasn't too crazy about Cygwin X. It wouldn't accept remote display requests. Maybe I was being particularly dense in my attempt to use it, but I switched back to the commercial product our company uses.

I am voting for the cygwin.

No cost, has the SSH protocols built in (just have to enable them), reliable, stable, etc...

Best of all, NO COST. (Did I mention that already?)
