topic Compilation Error in Operating System - HP-UX

Compilation Error

Hi ,

While compiling the following error takes place /usr/ccs/bin/ld: Can't find library for -xxx

its searching for lxxx in the given path .Me not sure if that library exists in the path.

So how do i know where is the library for xxx exists.

Hi,

a linker option
-lxxx
searches libraries of name
libxxx.sl
libxxx.a
(depending on dynamic or static search) in
/usr/lib
AND all pathes found before the option -lxxx you gave via
-Lpathname
