      <description>When you select 100FD, you have turned off auto-negotiation. Auto-negotiation means that the LAN card and the switch will negotiate the speed and duplex setting. Note that 100 BaseT network cards have difficulty negotiating correctly when the LAN cable is about 30-40 meters in length. In this case, the speed will usually be 100 but duplex will be half and will cause numerous errors. By editing the config file to select 100FD, the speed and duplex will be fixed and no mistake will be made.</description>
