    <description>do i need to run the update-ux while in single user or multi user. i have read the manula , it did not specify that it needs to be done at ipl.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;please advice.</description>

      <description>&lt;BR /&gt;The simplest way is to make an ignite recovery tape before you start.  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the update fails simple restore vg00 via an ignite restore.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;This will put the system back to its original os/patch level.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>You don't have to go single user mode to do an update, but it would be wise to make sure there is no one is on the server before you start and please make you sure you have a valid image before you start.  &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;I've never an update go successfully, I would go for a cold install.</description>

      <description>I would like to back up Deoncia's comments. DO NOT use update-ux - you will end up in a mess. Always do a cold install.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Mark Syder (like the drink but spelt different)</description>
