Hello All,

Please advice on the following case.

Recently, our dataprotector team upgraded the clustered cell servers from Omniback 4.1 to DP5.5 From then, we are facing problem in our cluster. It reforms every week, it doesn't switch to alternate node, but simply halts the package. We need to manually bring it up. Following is the package log file.

########### Node "seashore": Halting package at Tue May 9 12:31:39 EDT
2006 ###########
May 9 12:31:39 - Node "seashore": Halting service omni_sv
cmhaltserv : Service name omni_sv is not running.
HP OpenView Storage Data Protector services successfully stopped.

May 9 12:31:41 - Node "seashore": Remove IP address 15.32.122.153 from subnet 1
5.32.120.0
May 9 12:31:41 - Node "seashore": Unmounting filesystem on /dev/vg_ob2cm/lv_ob2
cm
WARNING: Running fuser to remove anyone using the file system directly
.
/dev/vg_ob2cm/lv_ob2cm:

May 9 12:31:44 - Node "seashore": Deactivating volume group /dev/vg_ob2cm
Deactivated volume group in Exclusive Mode.
Volume group "/dev/vg_ob2cm" has been successfully changed
########### Node "seashore": Package halt completed at Tue May 9 12:31:
44 EDT 2006 ###########

Checked the Package control script for omni_sv service, here are the following entries.

SERVICE_NAME[0]=omni_sv
SERVICE_CMD[0]="/etc/opt/omni/server/sg/csfailover.ksh start"
SERVICE_RESTART[0]=""

function customer_defined_run_cmds
{
/opt/omni/sbin/omnisv.sh -start
/etc/cmcluster/pscfg_update.sh
}

function customer_defined_halt_cmds
{
/etc/cmcluster/pscfg_update.sh
/opt/omni/sbin/omnisv.sh -stop
}

Please advice me,

Thanks,

Ravi.

Here's a clue:

"cmhaltserv : Service name omni_sv is not running."

Seems like the service is dying/being killed. Shouldn't SERVICE_RESTART be set to 1?
