    <description>Some disks are more busy then others.&lt;BR /&gt;A matter of getting an idea of the disk i/o &lt;BR /&gt;on your system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;First check the volumes then the datafiles.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;The volumes are they local in your machine, or do they reside on a external disk system or SAN ?&lt;BR /&gt;If local you can monitor with sar -d&lt;BR /&gt;if on a SAN use the performance diagnostics for that system.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;For the datafiles you can use Oracle performance pack to see how many blocks write/read are done by each tablespace &lt;BR /&gt;and datafile to see the usage.&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>hello,&lt;BR /&gt;     I need help from one of u expert.  Its simply that the time taken by a database file is more on one volume than on other.  I am unable to figure out from where shall i start with.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;</description>

      <description>it is residing on SAN.  and it is a staredge 3510 Array box.  Other volumes belong to EVA 3000 of HP</description>
