Hi,

I'm implementing some EMS monitors on a HP-UX 11.i server. Searching on the web I found that there are some resources that I can't find in my system, like, /rdbms and /vg .

e.g.:

hermes# resls /
Contacting Registrar on hermes

NAME: /
DESCRIPTION: This is the top level of the Resource Dictionary
TYPE: / is a Resource Class.

There are 8 resources configured below /:
Resource Class
/system
/StorageAreaNetwork
/adapters
/connectivity
/cluster
/storage
/samples
/net

Does anybody know how to enable or install this two resourses??

Thanks in advance.

Filippo

Hi Filippo,

Can you post these
# swlist -l product | grep EMS
# resls /vg
# reslc /rdbms
Any errors in registrar log in
/var/opt/resmon/log

/vg resource is part of EMS HA Monitor i.e. Disk resource Monitor. EMS HA Monitor is separate product. I guess it is included in MC OS.

Filippo,

The system has only EMS HW monitors installed ( I guess product B7609BA ). The EMS HA monitor product ( B5736BA ) is not installed.

Hence you won't see /vg, /rdbms resources.

These resources are not part of MC/SG. Thus re-installing SG doesn't make any sense. However EMS HW & HA monitors could used by MC/SG if installed and configured for it.

PS: I see in your profile
"I have assigned points to 0 of 12 responses to my questions. "

This is not good. Take some time to assign points to the replies against your queries depending no how useful the replies are.

Hi Filippo,
Do you know what you want the HA monitors for? They are a separately chargeable product from HP. They are documented here - http://www.docs.hp.com/en/ha.html#Event%20Monitoring%20Service%20and%20HA%20Monitors

But I can't find a link for how to obtain them; will update if I see one.

Andrew
