Not sure how you would that in Legato. Also, don't know what the font was to begin with.

Running the xfs (font server) process is benign. Has no appreciable impact or overhead.

When trying to display Legato Networker on a Linux or Cygwin machine over ssh from a HPUX server running 11.11. When I run the nwrecover command, I get an error. Nwadmin works fine. This all happened after we upgraded networker. Here is the error:

$nwrecover
nwrecover:
The font set specified for the browser windows is unavailable.
Please correct the 'BrowserFontList:' resource in X resources.
Font sets have the format ; : <TAG>.
More information is available in the X11 documentation.

I think this is the resource file in question:

In file /usr/lib/X11/app-defaults/Networker:
!! Browser fonts
Networker*BrowserFont: -*-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-140-75-75-*-*-iso8859-1
Networker*BrowserFontSet:
-*-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-140-75-75-*-*-iso8859-1,-*-helvetica-medium-r-normal-*-*-140-*-*-*-*-iso8859-1;:

Do the X resource files get read every time an app is started? Do I need to implicitly define this font? If I do, is there any service I need to restart?</TAG>

We are not running a xfs server. We never did before. Wouldn't I need to fix the font server on the machine displaying the window?

You indicate that it is being serverd from HPUX server.

It may be that the fonts have changed with the upgrade - in which case serve out the fonts the NW may be using.
