      <description>Hi Forumers,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Currently my messenging team is having issue with Postfix. &lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Postfix is running but when i did a telnet &lt;IPADDRESS&gt; 25 it is always showing &lt;BR /&gt;"trying....."&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;According to network side no firewall is blocking as well.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Any advise?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Cliff&lt;/IPADDRESS&gt;</description>

      <description>Checkif port is ok.&lt;BR /&gt;netstat -an | grep 25&lt;BR /&gt;if you have lsof tool, lsof -i 25</description>

      <description>Cliff,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;If the sendmail daemon isn't running you should get an error message, connection refused. But to be sure check the following:&lt;BR /&gt;Can you do a "ps -ef|grep send" to check if the sendmail daemon is running.&lt;BR /&gt;Also check with following command if the server listen on port 25(smtp):&lt;BR /&gt; netstat -af inet|grep smtp&lt;BR /&gt;tcp        0      0  *.smtp                 *.*                     LISTEN&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;What is the output of kmadin -s?&lt;BR /&gt;Do you see anything like ipf loaded.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Darrel</description>
