i want to know what is stm/cstm/mstn? .if it is avilable please sent to me documents /pdfs
.for what purpose it is using and how we can use these tools for find out the problems
And offline diag and one line tools ?

Hi:

This is the Online Support Diagnostic Tool (STM, CSTM, MSTM, XSTM). THe "C" is for command; the "M" is for menu; the "X" is for X11-based graphic of the Support Tools Manager (STM).

Execute this command to check either it is installed or not:
#swlist -l fileset |grep -i stm

If it is then it can be used to gather all h/w information of the system (even serial no.'s etc).

The first part of your question, regarding STM, has been answered several times, so I won't repeat that :-)

STM is part of the OnlineDiags package for HP-UX. Also included are the EMS HW Monitors, which will issue notifications when problems are detected with the hardware it supports. See http://www.docs.hp.com/en/diag.html#EMS%20Hardware%20Monitors for more details about them.

There are also Offline Diags, which used to be delivered on the same CD, but are now a separate package, downloadable currently from http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=PA0512
