Hi Javier,

You are installing 64-bit Oracle software during relinking, you receive the message:

"Error in invoking target ntcontab.o of makefile"

Try the following.

Examine the link for /usr/bin/cc.

$ ls -al /usr/bin/cc
lr-xr-xr-t 1 root sys 17 Jun 26 15:05 /usr/bin/cc@ -> /opt/ansic/bin/cc

This reveals that the compiler is the ANSI C compiler.

Check the version of the ANSI C compiler.

Switch to the bundled HP C compiler.

$ su root
$ cd /usr/bin
$ mv cc cc.ansic
$ ln -s /usr/ccs/bin/cc cc
$ exit

Click RETRY in the runInstaller dialog.

The reason for the error is the ANSI C compiler was not upgraded as part of the OS upgrade
since it's a separate product on HP-UX.

Oracle does not require the ANSI C compiler for installation, so the native HP C compiler in /usr/ccs/bin can be used instead. If using Pro*C/C++, then the ANSI C compiler must be upgraded to the proper HP-UX 11 version before the install.

Indira A

Shalom,

Most likely the patching and software requirements Oracle has put in the user guide have not been met.

Pay attention to Compilers and SHLIB_PATH requirements, then review everything. The oracle install must be followed precisely or it will fail.

SEP
