I'm quite sure that VPars are supported on both PA-RISC and Itanium servers.

Pete

I am currently running vPars (2 each) on rp7410 and rp5470's. So you should be good on an N4000. But I would verify it with my HP reseller before ordering it.

I'll take that back - it appears to be only PA-RISC:

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=T1335AC

Pete

Look at the "Installing and Managing HP-UX Virtual Partitions (vPars) at http://docs.hp.com/en/7042/T1335-90041.pdf.

It just says rp7400/N4000, see page 20.

Again, verify through your HP vendor before ordering.

that what I saw as well.. it's pretty confusing,
since r7400 = N4000-75
but
it sais rp4000/N4000 on the document,
so in one hand it means a specific model (rp7400 - N4000-75) and on the other hand it means a server family... (N4000)...

I have seen the same rp7400/N400 blanket compatable listing in all of their installation documents and data sheets going back several years.

If there were specific N4000 models that were excluded, I would expect to see something about it in there documents.
