    <description>Shalom Shankar,&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Reserve swap space is the swap space processes reserver when they start. This is just in case they need to be swapped out of memory.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Resrving swap space is not a problem. Paging processes in and out of swap is.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;See vmstat to see if you have an issue.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;SEP&lt;BR /&gt;Don't worry, nobody shelling me.</description>

      <description>Hi&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;swapinfo -mt shows the below output&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;             Mb      Mb      Mb   PCT  START/      Mb&lt;BR /&gt;TYPE      AVAIL    USED    FREE  USED   LIMIT RESERVE  PRI  NAME&lt;BR /&gt;dev        1024     102     922   10%       0       -    1  /dev/vg00/lvol2&lt;BR /&gt;reserve       -     922    -922&lt;BR /&gt;memory     1126     916     210   81%&lt;BR /&gt;total      2150    1940     210   90%       -       0    -&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;it shows device swap used is 10% and pseudo swap is 81%..I would like to know what reserve space is for..?in the above case total swap space utilisation is 90% and not changing for more than a month..do i need to increase device/file system swap..?&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Please advise.&lt;BR /&gt;&lt;BR /&gt;Shankar.</description>
