topic ignite error in Operating System - HP-UX

ignite error

Hi all,
I am trying to take ignite backup on one of my HP 10.20 Box, but failed with following error= "HP-UX System Recovery
make_recovery(486): Call to system failed. errno=0 Cleanup". And it is not giving me any error in preview mode..
my Os version is 10.20 and I am using make_reovery -A -v -d /dev/rmt/0mn

Please advice..

Hi Arun,

Please check your /etc/lvmtab config, whether there is something wrong with it, this error is usually happens if vgcfgbackup command that is performed by make_recovery is failed

yes.
I am getting following error..
vgdisplay: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c3t15d0":
The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to
this volume group
Is it because of this error ignite fails?

Hi Arun,

Yes, that's why the make_recovery is failing.
You have to fix the disk problem. Check with ioscan for the disk status.

Hi Arun S,

Yes, there's a problem on /dev/dsk/c3t15d0 and this need to be fix first before you run the make_recovery again.

Check on /etc/lvmtab whether the disk is registered on one of your vg(s). Do the 'ioscan -nfCdisk' to check the particular disk still with your system with CLAIMED status. Check also with 'diskinfo -v /dev/rdsk/c3t15d0' to see whether the disk can give you a correct information for the particular disk or not.

If the disk not belong to any vg(s) and it's unused. Try the steps below to fixed the /etc/lvmtab file :

#mv /etc/lvmtab /etc/lvmtab.old
(backup and move the original to lvmtab.old)

#vgscan -v
(creates new clean lvmtab)
